The Sanlam Financial Fund has underperformed recently due to the overweight exposure in Investec as well as the underweight exposure in Absa. The fund's 6% international exposure also hurt the performance of the fund during the third quarter of 2001. Despite of all these negatives, the fund still managed to outperform its peers.
