In managing the fund we express our best investment view on the optimal cominbation of different
assets that in our opinion, will maximise long-term returns at a reasonable level of risk. The fund can invest in a wide variety of asset classes such as shares, conventional bonds, inflation-linked bonds, listed property and cash, both domestically and internationally. Because it is managed to achieve good long-term results, it will typically have a strong bias towards equities - typically the asset class with the highest expected long-term returns. Pallavi Ambekar (BBusSc, CA (SA), CFA) Pallavi is a senior portfolio manager responsible for the co-management of institutional portfolios within the Absolute Return strategy as well as the Coronation Balanced Defensive and Capital Plus unit trust funds. She has 17 years’ investment experience. She also has research responsibility for certain large capitalisation shares listed on the JSE. Charles de Kock (BCom (Hons), MCom) Charles heads up the Absolute Return investment unit and is a portfolio manager across all strategies within the unit. He also co-manages the Coronation Balanced Defensive and Capital Plus unit trust funds. Charles has more than 30 years’ investment experience, plays a leadership role in the asset allocation process and is involved in all investment discussions. Eino Imvula Karl Leinberger (BBusSc; CA (SA); CFA) Karl is chief investment officer (CIO) and manager of Coronation’s Houseview strategies. He joined Coronation in 2000 as an equity analyst, was made head of research in 2005 and became CIO in 2008. Karl has 19 years’ investment experience.
